Such a smart and classic look. A very generous size Bakelite hoop/door knocker in a faux tortoise shell. These lovely earrings would be suitable for casual or dress. I think they would look fantastic with a crisp white shirt and jeans! The clasp is a hinged screwback with the desiger hallmark on the screw. The gold toned clasp is very light in weight. The hoops are a very warm swirl of faux tortise. Tested positive for Bakelite. ID-827

Measurements:
The earrings hang approximately 2 1⁄16" (top to bottom) and measure approximately 1 7⁄16 (at widest point).

Accessocraft Jewelry History —

The company was founded around 1930, by Edgar Rodelheimer and Theodore Steinman, but ceased operations in 1998. The company's popularity really began to escalate with their WWII relief themed pieces in the 1940s. It produced tens of thousands of war relief pins in WW2, but later became known for their heavy and stylized costume jewelry and accessories. They produced spectacular designs but the designs, which they became known for, did not come about until the 1960s. They began producing items heavily influenced by the renaissance, Victorian, Art Nouveau and Rococco style. These incorporated gold tone or bronzed metal set with unusual stones. These later designs were the most appreciated leaving a lasting impression.
